A romantic concert recorded in the Carl Jeppe Room at the Pretoria Country Club. Originally written for violin and guitar, the violin is replaced with a flute for this rendition of the Sonata Concertate, lending a fresh approach to this pretty work. It is full of expressive melodies, such as only Paganini can write.
The Castelnuovo-Tedesco Sonatina is an original work for flute and guitar and the Spanish flavour is eminent throughout. Idiomatic writing for both instruments makes this a challenging piece to bring off succesfully. This fine SA duo - Serenata - makes music on the next level and manages to seduce and entice the listener with their tasteful ensemble playing.
A hugely enjoyable recital for any discerning music lover.
